Telephone Relay Scrapbook Challenge

Before the holidays, I signed up to participate in a challenge over at Scrapbook Challenges.  I was sent a layout to lift, and had to send it back to the organizer, who then sent my layout to the next person and so on.  There were two teams playing along, who both started with the same original layout.  It was finally revealed today, so I can show you my layout!

It's amazing how much things changed over the course of the game...in the end, the circles totally disappeared in both groups!  I loved seeing everyone elses take on things.

Happy New Year!! Welcome to 2012!

It's been so long since I've posted!  I'm sorry!!  I am determined to be more visible on my blog in 2012.

I have been busy sewing for Christmas...I made 4 more campfire quilts for gifts.  I made 2 of each design.

Looking forward to 2012 and many many more sewing and scrapbooking projects...along with some other crafty projects.

Teacher Gift

My six year old finishes Kindergarten today!  Where has the year gone?  I did this altered clipboard up for his teacher..

The paper is from the Grade School Stack, and the black is actually chalkboard vinyl from Oh My Crafts.

This is the card I made for her..used up some deco squares from a swap I participated in a few years back..

Project Complete

Feels so great to finish this, even if everyone who has seen it so far says it looks like swastikas.  LOL!

All the material is fat quarters bought at Walmart.  Thanks for stopping by!

Campfire Quilts

So I have spent the past few Tuesday Sewing Nights working on some campfire quilts.  After my friend Kristen showed me theirs camping last year, I've been determined to make some for my family too.  Finished them over the long weekend while camping and love them.  They were a hit too!  Lots of people wishing for them on the chilly nights while we couldn't have a fire due to the fire ban.

This is mine...I had brought it in from the trailer, and it was on the chair and I came from the other end of the house and found Dawson all wrapped up in it.  The cool thing about these is the lining...along with regular quilt batting, there is also a layer of Insul Brite batting...to help reflect your body heat back to you!!  I'm officially a quilter now..have made 4 for the family, plus I made the dog a mat for camping (no insul brite in hers though). I still plan to do some free motion quilting on them all, once I have mastered that on my new machine.

Farewell to Friends

A family we have grown quite close to the past few years is moving away due to a work transfer.  We are gonna  miss them immensely!!

I made this photo display for them using all the pictures I have taken of them over the past few years.  I love how it turned out, and hope they do too!!

The stand is from 7 Gypsies, and all CS for the mats & tags is Recollections.
