For the Love of Pets

I did these two layouts of our cats a while back....I based them off a layout I saw at 2peas by fromichelle..It is such a great way to showcase a large amount of pics on one page. I've been wanting to do a page of Trigger (left) (who has been gone for 4 yrs) for awhile now. and I wanted to do Murphy at the same time.....

Next up.....Sierra (our dog)...but probably not any time soon LOL!!

WANTED!!

Time.....3 maybe 4 more hours a day would be good... or maybe an extra day every weekend would be even better. Haven't found time to do much scrapping lately..between our weekend in Edmonton last weekend (which was jam packed full of soccer, amusement parks & waterparks) and then getting back to the grind and homework we've hardly had time to breathe. I will try to upload some pics on the weekend.. Just wanted you to know I haven't fallen off of the face of the earth....yet LOL!!

Spring is in the Air!!

or it was until this morning LOL!!! It's been beautiful these past few days, and I thought today was to be the same...but we woke to chilly & foggy!! The sun is trying to poke through though!! Here is another layout I've created lately....based on a Day sketch from the Mix It Up challenge blog!

And the saga continues.....

Remember the whole sketch thing....well, I decided to check before I posted my pics of some layouts done with a sketch that was posted on the forum (I got them from the sketcher blog, not the forum, but wanted to share)..well, the forum admin told me that I couldn't use my watermark with the word copyright unless I proved I owned the copyright...uh...its pics I took of my children on my layout that I took a pic of ..no proof necessary, in Canada...copyright protection is automatic, but you can take the addition step to register...needless to say - I won't be sharing anymore of my work there. I've also asked that the couple I had already shared be deleted immediately and then I'm leaving the board. So...I will share the two pics I wanted to share here though...both of these layouts are based on this sketch by Day!! I love Day's sketches....I use them alot.....she Rocks!! ETA: So as of this morning, I've been Banned from that board...banned for going the proper route and asking about using the watermark on my pics BEFORE I actually posted it...so a note to you all....stay away from House of Scraps.ca if you were tempted to join them before....

Another Retreat LO!!

Oh how I wish I was still at the retreat!!!

We had so much fun!!! As we did the day these pics were taken at the zoo!! Based on a scraplift from 2peas, I think this is one of my favs that I got done at the retreat!!

It Started with a Sketch...

It is a great sketch!! Easy, simple layout, perfect for the picture I wanted to scrap. So I scrapped it....

Fast Forward 24hrs, and I'm chatting with a friend about a forum we belong to. We check out the sketches thread...and imagine my surprise to see the exact sketch there posted by someone else...but with the author's name deleted off...fast forward 24 more hrs...find chaos on the forum, and the sketch is gone, only to be replaced by another, that is only a modified version of the first. This leads to an even bigger kafuffle (is that even a word??? lol) regarding the sketch owner, and board membership and my association with the sketch owner, yada yada yada. I *think* its starting to smooth over, until I go and do something stupid like hit the submit button on what I think is my reply to the PM from the board admin, to find out seconds later that I posted on the actual forum for all to see. So now I feel horrible, I can't delete the post, I've pm'd the board owner/admin for help....soooo hoping that I somehow did delete it and it goes away...

I will say that I've learned several things from this 'adventure'...the first being to always, always, always double check before you hit post. Never have two windows open for the same forum... (duh!! I still can't believe I did that....) As well, from now on you will always see a watermark on each and every picture I upload to the internet.....

Finally - an important reminder to all that whenever you post a sketch, or picture, or even a LO you've scraplifted, to always remember to credit the original author/sketcher/scrapbooker. Its common courtesy, as well there is something to do with copyright laws. If you can't remember where you got it from, post that too....you could always say - hey, I can't recall where I got this from, if its yours, or you possibly know where it came from, please let me know so that I can give proper credit to the original designer -. Easy peasy, right!

Retreat LO!!

Here is one of several LO's I got done at the retreat. I always have good intentions of getting lots done, but then I enjoy being away from home, and take my time, and visit & talk....I never get as much done as I hope to...but this was one of the more productive retreats I've been to.
