So I have spent the past few Tuesday Sewing Nights working on some campfire quilts. After my friend Kristen showed me theirs camping last year, I've been determined to make some for my family too. Finished them over the long weekend while camping and love them. They were a hit too! Lots of people wishing for them on the chilly nights while we couldn't have a fire due to the fire ban.
This is mine...I had brought it in from the trailer, and it was on the chair and I came from the other end of the house and found Dawson all wrapped up in it. The cool thing about these is the lining...along with regular quilt batting, there is also a layer of Insul Brite batting...to help reflect your body heat back to you!! I'm officially a quilter now..have made 4 for the family, plus I made the dog a mat for camping (no insul brite in hers though). I still plan to do some free motion quilting on them all, once I have mastered that on my new machine.
