I somehow managed to commit myself to 3 card swaps at the same time LOL!! So over the next week or so you are going to see cards cards and more cards.... These ones were made for a swap of local women that I met at a crop...they are for a kid's birthday...what child do you know that doesn't like Bubble Gum!! my MOJO?? Its been MIA for some time now...I really hope that once school is back in and we settle into the fall/winter routine that it will come back..I want to scrap, just haven't found anytime to!! I did alter a frame for an Altered Item Secret Swap, but I don't want to share a picture of it until I know its been received...so look for that soon. And if you've seen my mojo, send it home please!!

Just Hitched!

well....nearly 10 years ago anyways LOL!! Finally getting around to working on our wedding photos...I did this for a Scrap It Forward challenge on the forum I belong to. The challenge was to scraplift a lo, post it for the next person to lift and so on until it goes through the whole group..I was first in the group and this is my layout:

Product used includes Stampin Up ink & cardstock, PP by Making Memories, Recollections bling brads, thickers, grungeboard & a bazzill flower!!

Year End Teacher Gift

I made this clipboard for Dawson's Grade 2 teacher.....as always I waited to the very last minute, but at least its done.

I painted it with Black Chalkboard paint, used pp by Sandylion, and some ric rac, a cork tile cut down and some wooden embellies I got at M's

Finally - Something New

I finally got to scrap this past weekend!!! I made this layout based on a Blind Scrapping Challenge I found at http://www.purplescraps.com/ . I love how it turned out. It's the Feb page for the 2010 calendars I'm making. I made 2 copies of it. The two chipboard arrows were received in swaps I've been in on the forum I host.

I signed up to do a calendar class through my Stampin Up Demonstrator. Every other month we go to her workshop, and do two months for the calendar. I decided to do two calendars, so each night I do 4 los....We get to pic and choose what papers we want, and bring 4 - 6 pics...

Home Sweet Home

Had a fantastic time at the crop this weekend. I finally got a chance to do my family layout that I fell in love with in Scrapbooks Etc Feb 2009 issue....

The highlight of the crop for me was winning one of the big door prizes!!!! I won a Cricut Create and the Storybook & Wild Card carts!!! How sweet is that!! Camp Croppin & Scrapbooker's Paradise rock!! I also got a chipboard album completed in one of the classes I took -hosted by Basic Grey & taught by none other than Becky Fleck!! And I got to be the 'Tent Mom' for her other class (so I haven't had a chance to actually make my cards yet..) All in all a fantastic weekend!!!

Don't Leave Home for the weekend.....

unless you are sure that you won't come home to this!! LOL!! My 7 yr old has been asking for this for awhile.....but my 4 yr old totally surprised me!!! I left them at daycare yesterday....and came for a scrapbooking weekend..I called home via video IM this morning...and this is what I was met with LOL!!! Sure am glad that we did their pics last month, and hey - its hair-it grows back...right?

For the Love of Pets

I did these two layouts of our cats a while back....I based them off a layout I saw at 2peas by fromichelle..It is such a great way to showcase a large amount of pics on one page. I've been wanting to do a page of Trigger (left) (who has been gone for 4 yrs) for awhile now. and I wanted to do Murphy at the same time.....

Next up.....Sierra (our dog)...but probably not any time soon LOL!!

WANTED!!

Time.....3 maybe 4 more hours a day would be good... or maybe an extra day every weekend would be even better. Haven't found time to do much scrapping lately..between our weekend in Edmonton last weekend (which was jam packed full of soccer, amusement parks & waterparks) and then getting back to the grind and homework we've hardly had time to breathe. I will try to upload some pics on the weekend.. Just wanted you to know I haven't fallen off of the face of the earth....yet LOL!!

Spring is in the Air!!

or it was until this morning LOL!!! It's been beautiful these past few days, and I thought today was to be the same...but we woke to chilly & foggy!! The sun is trying to poke through though!! Here is another layout I've created lately....based on a Day sketch from the Mix It Up challenge blog!

And the saga continues.....

Remember the whole sketch thing....well, I decided to check before I posted my pics of some layouts done with a sketch that was posted on the forum (I got them from the sketcher blog, not the forum, but wanted to share)..well, the forum admin told me that I couldn't use my watermark with the word copyright unless I proved I owned the copyright...uh...its pics I took of my children on my layout that I took a pic of ..no proof necessary, in Canada...copyright protection is automatic, but you can take the addition step to register...needless to say - I won't be sharing anymore of my work there. I've also asked that the couple I had already shared be deleted immediately and then I'm leaving the board. So...I will share the two pics I wanted to share here though...both of these layouts are based on this sketch by Day!! I love Day's sketches....I use them alot.....she Rocks!! ETA: So as of this morning, I've been Banned from that board...banned for going the proper route and asking about using the watermark on my pics BEFORE I actually posted it...so a note to you all....stay away from House of Scraps.ca if you were tempted to join them before....

Another Retreat LO!!

Oh how I wish I was still at the retreat!!!

We had so much fun!!! As we did the day these pics were taken at the zoo!! Based on a scraplift from 2peas, I think this is one of my favs that I got done at the retreat!!

It Started with a Sketch...

It is a great sketch!! Easy, simple layout, perfect for the picture I wanted to scrap. So I scrapped it....

Fast Forward 24hrs, and I'm chatting with a friend about a forum we belong to. We check out the sketches thread...and imagine my surprise to see the exact sketch there posted by someone else...but with the author's name deleted off...fast forward 24 more hrs...find chaos on the forum, and the sketch is gone, only to be replaced by another, that is only a modified version of the first. This leads to an even bigger kafuffle (is that even a word??? lol) regarding the sketch owner, and board membership and my association with the sketch owner, yada yada yada. I *think* its starting to smooth over, until I go and do something stupid like hit the submit button on what I think is my reply to the PM from the board admin, to find out seconds later that I posted on the actual forum for all to see. So now I feel horrible, I can't delete the post, I've pm'd the board owner/admin for help....soooo hoping that I somehow did delete it and it goes away...

I will say that I've learned several things from this 'adventure'...the first being to always, always, always double check before you hit post. Never have two windows open for the same forum... (duh!! I still can't believe I did that....) As well, from now on you will always see a watermark on each and every picture I upload to the internet.....

Finally - an important reminder to all that whenever you post a sketch, or picture, or even a LO you've scraplifted, to always remember to credit the original author/sketcher/scrapbooker. Its common courtesy, as well there is something to do with copyright laws. If you can't remember where you got it from, post that too....you could always say - hey, I can't recall where I got this from, if its yours, or you possibly know where it came from, please let me know so that I can give proper credit to the original designer -. Easy peasy, right!

Retreat LO!!

Here is one of several LO's I got done at the retreat. I always have good intentions of getting lots done, but then I enjoy being away from home, and take my time, and visit & talk....I never get as much done as I hope to...but this was one of the more productive retreats I've been to.

It was based on a sketch!! Yay!! I also finished up two others that were in various stages....I'll post them later!!

Home Sweet Home

Spent the weekend at a Scrapbook retreat in Canmore.....such a beautiful mountain town...I think the weather was nice (I didn't go out except for dinner at night LOL) I got a bunch of LO's done, and still have several in various stages, that I will share over the next little while..need to update the pics... Arlene - thanks again for a wonderful time!! Looking forward to the next one!!

Update on Dawson

We saw the surgeon again yesterday, and were given the go ahead to start putting weight on his foot and walking!! This is great news as it means he can get back to school!! Unfortunately, it also means I'm back to work.... We've had a successful time with the Potty Training too! I'm sooooo excited.....the end to diapers is in sight! Now to get back to the good stuff - scrapping! Hope to post some card pics soon - just need to get in there and finish them!

Post Op Update

Saw the surgeon today...he's very happy with how Dawson's foot is healing, and has decided that we don't need to go back and try to have the pin put in again. This is good news as it means a faster recovery time...Yay!!!

Contest entry

I did the 1 hr lo contest over at Creative Scrappers tonight... had fun, and love the time limits..make me think harder and actually manage to get something done.

Challenge LO...

Did this layout for a couple of challenges on the Scrapbook board....one was to add the digits in your age together and that total is the # that references what color to use...I got Grey. The other was to use certain sizes of paper, 5 brads & a swap item. As soon as I saw grey, I thought - good for a wedding layout...hard to believe this was taken 9.5 years ago... All PP is SU charbon ds paper, heart brads (unknown), vellum, fibre Dawson is recovering quite well..they weren't able to do the full operation, so he isn't as restricted in movements - he can get around on crutches and hop/crawl so that is better..we go back on Tues for a follow up and see how things are and whether they have to go back and try again or not.

Surgery Day!

Surgery is now done, and I'm sitting in Dawson's hospital room with the laptop.....love that we have wireless internet here....he's comfortably watching tv, Matt is napping on the parent bed...we have a private room - no sharing here...they said it allows for them to keep more beds open..and I'm sure it will help both Matt & Dawson have a decent sleep tonight...yay for that! Can you believe that my son came out of surgery, and once again defied all odds and skipped over the clear fluids and straight to french fries...With the exception of one, he's done this will all his surgerys. Now I've probably jinxed myself, but will take it for now...he's not throwing up and is getting his color back...yay!!

Probably won't see much from me over the next week....Dawson has his surgery on Wed, so we will be at the Children's Hospital for a few days (admitted for one night for sure....) Here's hoping the morphine is as good as it was the last time.....

I'm a Bad Blogger!!

So much for being better at posting.... Let's see - we have a definite surgery date for Dawson - Jan 21. I've done a bit of scrapping, but haven't finished a layout (still need some titles) so can't post. I do need to make my Dad a birthday card...and finish a few swaps so hope to have something scrappy to show in a few days.

Goodbye 2008! Hello 2009!! We are starting the New Year off with another planned foot surgery for Dawson.....and an extended vacation for him & I....as he will need to be assisted with nearly everything for 4 - 6 weeks.....I have plans to get Brayden potty trained while we are confined at home!! I'm dreaming of the day we are diaper free! I am looking forward to more scrapbooking too!! Now that its cold out, I tend to want to stay inside, by the fire so I hope to spend that time in a constructive way..As well, the scrapbook board I am a cohost of is having a 'surprise' tomorrow night...can't give many details till then, but the girls are excited as they aren't quite sure what to expect! LOL!! Off to spend the day with my boys....kept them out way too late last night (130 by the time we brought them home) but they slept in so that was a nice change. Sounds like we are heading to Walmart - Dawson needs new boots...we were trying not to buy any till after surgery as they will fit different, but the ones he has are cracked all the way through, meaning wet socks so guess we must give in....lol! I need some mitts too as mine have vanished....ttfn
