Post Op Update

Saw the surgeon today...he's very happy with how Dawson's foot is healing, and has decided that we don't need to go back and try to have the pin put in again. This is good news as it means a faster recovery time...Yay!!!

I did the 1 hr lo contest over at Creative Scrappers tonight... had fun, and love the time limits..make me think harder and actually manage to get something done.

Challenge LO...

Did this layout for a couple of challenges on the Scrapbook board....one was to add the digits in your age together and that total is the # that references what color to use...I got Grey. The other was to use certain sizes of paper, 5 brads & a swap item. As soon as I saw grey, I thought - good for a wedding layout...hard to believe this was taken 9.5 years ago... All PP is SU charbon ds paper, heart brads (unknown), vellum, fibre Dawson is recovering quite well..they weren't able to do the full operation, so he isn't as restricted in movements - he can get around on crutches and hop/crawl so that is better..we go back on Tues for a follow up and see how things are and whether they have to go back and try again or not.

Surgery Day!

Surgery is now done, and I'm sitting in Dawson's hospital room with the laptop.....love that we have wireless internet here....he's comfortably watching tv, Matt is napping on the parent bed...we have a private room - no sharing here...they said it allows for them to keep more beds open..and I'm sure it will help both Matt & Dawson have a decent sleep tonight...yay for that! Can you believe that my son came out of surgery, and once again defied all odds and skipped over the clear fluids and straight to french fries...With the exception of one, he's done this will all his surgerys. Now I've probably jinxed myself, but will take it for now...he's not throwing up and is getting his color back...yay!!

I scrapped!! I scrapped!!!

I finally have something scrappy to share......I did some paperclips and Valentine Cards for some swaps on the board I cohost....

Probably won't see much from me over the next week....Dawson has his surgery on Wed, so we will be at the Children's Hospital for a few days (admitted for one night for sure....) Here's hoping the morphine is as good as it was the last time.....

I'm a Bad Blogger!!

So much for being better at posting.... Let's see - we have a definite surgery date for Dawson - Jan 21. I've done a bit of scrapping, but haven't finished a layout (still need some titles) so can't post. I do need to make my Dad a birthday card...and finish a few swaps so hope to have something scrappy to show in a few days.

Goodbye 2008! Hello 2009!! We are starting the New Year off with another planned foot surgery for Dawson.....and an extended vacation for him & I....as he will need to be assisted with nearly everything for 4 - 6 weeks.....I have plans to get Brayden potty trained while we are confined at home!! I'm dreaming of the day we are diaper free! I am looking forward to more scrapbooking too!! Now that its cold out, I tend to want to stay inside, by the fire so I hope to spend that time in a constructive way..As well, the scrapbook board I am a cohost of is having a 'surprise' tomorrow night...can't give many details till then, but the girls are excited as they aren't quite sure what to expect! LOL!! Off to spend the day with my boys....kept them out way too late last night (130 by the time we brought them home) but they slept in so that was a nice change. Sounds like we are heading to Walmart - Dawson needs new boots...we were trying not to buy any till after surgery as they will fit different, but the ones he has are cracked all the way through, meaning wet socks so guess we must give in....lol! I need some mitts too as mine have vanished....ttfn

Dawson the Snowman

We went to Dawson's school concert last night....he was Papa Snowman in the production Melton the Warm Hearted Snowman.....he did great - remembered his lines and all....

meanwhile, poor Brayden is running a fever, and as the Motrin wore off, he got cuddlier with me and just wanted to go home....he woke up with it still, and the advil is working to keep it at bay, but I'd like to know what's going on with my boy....its not fun having sick kids!

Welcome to Winter!

Winter has arrived with a bang this weekend.....we are sitting at -22C and not expected to warm up until Tues....BRRRRRR!! Not much going on around here lately.....but the Christmas Tree is up....we have a busy week ahead with Beavers Christmas party, school Christmas concert & pics for the boys. Last day of school is Friday...then its 2 weeks off for Dawson....and 2 long weekends for me..... Back later this weekend with some scrapping I hope!!

Where has the year gone????

Finally got a great shot for the Christmas cards on the weekend....one thing off the to do list...

I have had no time for scrapping lately.....hope to remedy that soon!!

Monday Monday....na na na na

come on, sing along, you know you want to....LOL!! While trying to think of a great title for today, all I could thing about was the song Monday Monday by the Mamas & Papas.... did a little scrapping this weekend, but have two boys with the flu that slowed me down....home today from work with them, and I think they are finally feeling better...me on the other hand - not as well... Hoping to do the 1 hr layout contest over at Creative-Scrappers.com tomorrow night!! you should check it out too!!!

Friday...where has the week gone....

just a quick Hi!! Heading out tonight for a Passion Party at my friends.....boys are heading to the neighbours for Boys night.........

Typical Monday

Mondays...yuck! I really don't like Mondays. I don't like the alarm going off...I don't like the mad rush to get out the door. I don't like the traffic on a foggy/slippery commute. Overall today was okay, as far as Mondays go. Its also Beaver night...so its a mad rush to feed Dawson & Matt before they race out the door at 6:20 pm....then its Brayden & Mommy time....tonight we're playing cards....hit or stay Mom....all I can say is Thanks to our neighbours, Brayden wants to play 21!! LOL!

Peace and Quiet!

I finally have a day to myself....I'm home alone....can do whatever I want......and here I sit on the computer LOL! The boys have gone hunting.... I've done nothing scrappy in the past 4 days. Wait - I did a fast scrap challenge for the ACOT Crop yesterday, but otherwise nothing....I need to do a card today for my Aunt for her birthday...and I need to get some digi stuff done.... And then....the phone rings.....looks like my quiet day is over....Dawson called asking if I wanted a hot chocolate from Timmys! From the way Brayden was talking in the background, the hunt was successful today....but it also means they'll be heading out again to Papa's soon....days like this I'm really happy we don't have a garage!!

I Scrapped!!!

A real layout.....LOL!! I've been so busy working on swaps the last little while that it feels really strange to be doing an actual layout. This is from PUmpkin Carving this year. I don't know why but we've never done it before. Dawson got right into, scooping seeds out, using a spoon and his hands. Brayden was into scooping for about 5 mins then didn't want to get dirty lol!! The PP is all SU - Ghostly Greetings dsp, the orange cs strips unknown, the spider paperclip is from a swap on a scrapbooking board I co host....the layout is a loose lift of a layout by one of the other board members...thanks for sharing your layout Marlene!!

Finished!

Finished the last of my Winter Swap Items today....feels good to have it done and know that I am done with swaps until after Christmas....my next one isn't due until January!!

Is Hunting Season over yet......

I'm definitely ready for it to be! I think the boys are ready for daddy to be home too!! They are stir crazy!!

Keeping my sanity by scrapping today......got a couple more swap items finished.....Christmas Tags. The reindeer is a $1 stamp, cs not sure, pp not sure, colored with my watercolor brush and marvy markers, misc white fibre. Thanks for stopping by

Deck the halls....

Finally got my act together and got started on the last few groups for the Winter Swap. This is an altered coaster, I lifted the idea from Lisa Martz over at SCS..no stamping on my version though. Each little list is personalized so that it can be put on the fridge and written on...and kept handy for Santa to see.
